bad experience at shu uemura, bugis junction

i have used their eyebrow pencil for about 2yrs ever since mich intro me. the troublesome part of this eyebrow pencil is that i have to bring it down for sharpening. i do not mind the hassle coz i really think that the pencil was really good.

However, the latest experience was bad. i passed 2 pencils to the sales girl. she is not very tall, shoulder length hair. i have seen her ard before. when i went back to collect 2days later, she said "wat's ur name?" i was like "huh? but u nv ask for my name the other time."

so she was searching through the rest, and i have to help her locate one of my pencils. the other one, she couldnt find. she took down my no. and said will call me back. i asked her "what if you cant find?" her curt reply was " then replace one for u".

rude, totally no customer service at all.

so i waited.. patiently.. for 2 weeks. and still no response. so i went down today and demanded my pencil. the person in charge was professional and nice. and without 2nd thoughts, replaced my lost eyebrow pencil.come on. i'm not a cheapo. it's just that the pencil was still quite new! and it's the 2nd/3rd time i took it for sharpening!
overall, it's a very unpleasant encounter. boohoo!

Met up with some of my good buds for dinner.

had this idea after watching SATC. and also a chat with one of my colleagues, YP.

friends are an important anchor in one's life. besides family n partner. one needs frens to laugh at silly things.. to talk about stuff we refused to let our families know.. to show u the moral support u lack from family.. and probably get away from the family for a breather.. haha

it's hard to "sacrifice" some time of our own if we are busy with work or family or other stuff.. but..

like wat yp shared "u need ur gfs to gripe about husbands.. and to discuss abt children's" i agree..

so i decided to meet up with one grp of frens on the last fri of every month!

it may not be dinner.. it can b lunch if all of us are staying/working nearby..

i love the few hours of meet-up. usually it's full of laughter..

phew!!! finally done with my packing.. but.. i still gotta tidy up some loose ends at work! hmmm.. in anthr 15hrs i will be on board to paris.. hee..
these few days i have been really bz.. running for appts.. settling stuff.. to be honest, i wasnt feeling excited. but when i started to pack my stuff just now.. the sense of excitement kicked in! =)

i know the trip will be fun! =) and i will return to singapore as a brand new floffy!!! hahahahaha...

AUGUST!!!!!

time really flies.. and i cant believe it!! haiz.. i have so much things to do! updating my bday posts n bkk trip! haha.. it's in the archive! damn..

actually for the past few mths not been feeling good emotionally. work wise not smooth. r/ship wise.. in a struggle.. then again, i realised my problems are really micro stuff. other pple haf their weeks worse? like tinking of the $$ for the next meal..

anw had a good talk with my boss yday during coaching. i teared again! haiz.. but then at least i didnt hide away like an ostrich like last time. this time round i decided to conquer my fear! to face the challenge and enjoy the challenge.

i have no qualms abt repeating my QC n ELITE. however, i'm seriously quite worried abt my starclub. but i know worries will only bring inactions and not moving forward. so the best thing to do is to tk action. tink less.. do more.. and consistently. =)

i'm looking forward to my paris and italy trip! hee.. more so of florence in florence!!! corny i know.. but it has always been my dream to set my foot upon florence ever since i know there's a place called florence. =)

for my r/ship. all along i nv wrote much abt him. coz i dunnoe wat to write. all i know now is: i still feel happy when he calls or smses me. i still feel happy being with him. though it's bittersweet. many has asked me to give up. to this, i pondered for a looooong time! i told myself: if i give up now, will i feel that it's a right decision? a happy n relieved feeling? the answer is no. coz i know i will regret. coz i know i will haf that "WHAT IF?"

i woke up at 635am.. and went for a jog at 655am. ran 6rounds!

the morning cool breeze against my face.. refreshing! and as the sky opens up and let in the ray.. somehow it gave me the feel of a new beginning! =)

i love morning!! especially when i wake up early and absorb in the vitality of the morning sun, greeted by cool breeze and unfortunately, some stupid crows instead of humming birds.

tiring day.

was at popular to while away the time and came across a book. a book which i read it last yr. smthg on 2things to do before u die.. or 200 things.. or 20 things. hmmm.. watever. basically a book abt real life people and the things they did. like coming out of the closet, taking swimming lesson at age 26..blah blah..

it's an interesting read. glued to it for 30mins.

my sat was busy with all the reporting. and busied myself with the costs i gotta incur. sigh.

then again, there's always a blessing in every suay incident. the uncle i dealed with, mr victor koh is really a nice man. he tried to help in his ways. and he is polite. unlike some horror stories i heard abt the animosity between car owners. so i'm thankful. even when i'm done with my report, he called personally and asked if he could help in any other ways. thankful! =)

didnt go out. stayed at home. firstly, i didnt have the mood. secondly i wanted to save $$$. though ling n i wanted to go watch hellboy 2 but tix were sold out. so i stayed at home to clear my wardrobe. satisfying. and i realised my wardrobe is bursting! wahahhaa... =P and in anthr week's time, my trip to bkk will bring more congestion .. hmmm.. perhaps time to do a real overhaul of my wardrobe!!

and papa tempted me for supper. so in the end i ordered nuggets when i helped him to order his mcspicy. we were full. to the extent, i stayed up till 3am.. with the company of chow yun-fatt's oldies and korean drama. and papa was even better. he went for a super early morning walk. with kiki.

so with the late night, i couldnt wake up for golf in time. xq gotta call me. well at least my swing improved. now most of my balls are in the range of 30-50m. =) more practice!!! but the morning sun was really strong!!! and i forgot my sun block on my legs! argh..

and i went for brekkie! laksa!!! yummy yummy. but it's super duper sinful. then again, life is too short to tink too much. at least i exercised!!

expecting brother's return in anthr 3hrs!!! =) he's back for good! hehe.. finally. and i'm proud of him!

anw.. i tink things are looking up for me! coz my luck will bounce back!! with even more vigour! and power! hehe.. =P

this came in time to soothe my nervous soul.
these few weeks or even months, it has not been smooth. esp in work. though i see some results coming in, my impatience blinded me.

and on 11th july i had my first minor accident. near eng neo exit on PIE. though some dents, and no serious injuries, i dun feel good still. for a moment, the law of attraction took place. coz in the am, when i was abt to go out, i asked myself "shld i bring my camera along in case got accident?" and then the accident happened. sigh.

but i shld count my blessings. i can still afford the repairs costs. the uncle is really nice and he calmed me down. kept saying "it's nthg lah. just a small dent". my parents didnt scold me. in fact mummy said as long as u are alright, that's more impt. sister said the same thing. although there are shouts here n there too. well.. all of us have emotions. understandable.

i hope the trip to bkk in 2 weeks time will wash off all the bad luck i have! =) then more shopping to lift my spirits. and with the bad luck gone, more luck in biz. means more $$$.. then i can spend more in paris+italy. hee..

all i know now: if my luck hits rock bottom, then it will bounce back double fold. no.. make it triple fold. smtmes it's better to be greedy. =P

all will be well again. i will fight back! =)

1 cup of lemsip... i thot i will be alright this morning.

on the contrary, woke up with a headache. and a fever.

and this morning 6am, received a sms from a fren. his father passed on. i hope he's doing good. *hugz*

thereafter i couldnt sleep. his sms made me wan to cry. it disturbs me. (till now)

how much time do i have with my parents? i dun know.

i should try to talk to them more. spend more time with them. and not shut them out of my little world which i have been doing frequently recently due to stress. i'm not a good handler of stress.

but anthr sms made me irritated.

from distractor. at the end of his sms, he wrote this: you dont have to reply. i'll understand.

what does he mean by it? i dont need him to understand if i'm not replying! and i can choose who to reply to!! i just cant understand why he's so careful.. and overdoing his acts of concern, his acts of trying to be funny.

and yday when i told him i have appt hence i cant agree to a dinner. his reply was "it's ok. so much for trying to fall asleep. haha"

is he insinuating that my late reply (after hours) caused him to lose sleep? in an attempt to make me feel guity? i couldnt be bothered to reply.

i realised he's treating me like a little ger. way too cautious with his words n smses. overdoing his concern. to the extent it's not natural. i'm a woman. i'm a bloody 27year old woman who knows how to take care of myself! i dont need as much attention as before when i was in my younger days! i know how to decipher if it's a joke or not.

this weekend is by far the most happy one! coz i exercised!!!

sat
went jogging. =) then went to my 2nd aunt's place for dinner. coz huihui jie is back! =) and she's back for good. and we watched the 19th Golden Awards or smthg like that held in taiwan LIVE! halfway through the programme, huihui jie n i went to dome. coz i needed to satisfy my cravings for ice-cream!!! so i had apple crumble.. with gelato. not one.. but TWO!! yeah.. had a quick catch up with her. enjoyed the chat.

i'm really happy that even if we are cousins, we make an effort to keep in touch. that goes the same with the rest of the cousins. smtmes i do wish 3rd aunt lives nearer.. hehe..

then we went back to continue our viewing. and we are all very proud of tanya chua!! she's really amazing.. =) after the whole event which ended at 1130pm, my papa suggested supper!!!

woohoo!!! so we went to upper thomson road "the prata shop" ! gosh.. it was crowded!! we waited a while for our seats. hmmm.. the pratas quality really improved! it's really delicious!! =)

and by the time we reached home, it's already nearing 1am! being full from the supper, stayed up to watch the "Night Museum" with papa. still funny.. =)

and this sunday morning! with the bright and cheery sun.. i was at OCC. practising my golf swing! the heat was unbearable. it was scorching hot!!!
the first 40 swings were lousy! then breakfast came! yummy suasage muffin!! and maybe it's due to the brekkie.. the next 30 swings were good! =) i tink abt 2 balls went beyond the 50m mark. it's a great improvement!! and most went beyond 30m!!

had a great time perspiring!!! but then.. i tink the amt of food i consumed seems to negate the benefits of the exercises! hehe..

ltr gotta rush for my appts! =) life is looking beautiful.. no.. it is beautiful!! =)

these 2 days i have been seeing my sis.. happy! =)

well her bf not in town.. so can see her more often.

we went for lunch tog with parents at whampoa. then i went for my paris-italy trip discussion. then met them for dinner again.

she went to order anthr spectacles. and i got tempted as well. hehe.
for the first time, papa n mummy decided to try ajisen! all of us were actually very full from the lunch! but papa was quite cute la.. he kept on eating despite saying "i'm very full"!!! -_-"

then halfway through the dinner, there was a little boy who screamed at the top of his lungs. his father made him stand outside the restaurant. haha.. and he's a good boy.. albeit his black face! then sis asked papa if we were ever this naughty? screaming n brawling in public... and papa said no. reminisce of the past.

and talking of that.. we are really looking forward to brother's return! and smart ass him.. told me he confirmed a distinction for one of his modules! =) really proud of him.. anw shld be seeing him soon!! anthr 2 weeks.

met up with linda last nite. finally. it's been abt 2-3months since i last met her. or longer perhaps. met one fren. let's call her A.

impression of A (BEFORE she opened her mouth) okie. neutral.
impression of A AFTER she opened her mouth: this woman is not simple!(some other story) but she definitely needs lots of attention and affirmation.

so we were chatting over supper and topic of insurance came out. and as i was explaining to trina, this A kept interupting me! i was quite pissed. coz i feel it's rude to do that! and then.. hello i'm a adviser! i know my work! and when i was talking abt the features of the plan.. be it a double claim or single payout.. she kept saying that critical illnesses coverage is important.

hello.. if it's not impt.. u tink trina will buy??

A: so u r an agent or planner?
me (tog with linda): they are the same. just different names
A: no.. they are not. my one is a planner.. and he's very good.. meet me up every year.

i was tinking in my heart. that's his job mah.. and lucky u.. got a responsible one!

A: oh.. he can represent every companies.
me: no.. he cant sell pru pdts.. except investment.
A: but he's very good la.. tell me which is the best for me!

i was tinking.. pls.. that's a line most pple will say.. esp from IFAs. now i dun have anything against IFAs. maybe just a teeny weeny bit. the fact that they like to say " we got the best plans for u!! no worries"

to them "best" plan means the cheapest or the plans that derived the highest comm. it's a simple fact. coz my sis who used to be a banker has 2 companies to sell from. i asked her "y u dun sell policies from X company but always Y company?" her answer is simple "coz Y company's revenue is higher." she obviously dun understand the world of commission-based careers.

to me a "best" plan is one which meet ur needs. and u feel good paying for it. essentially all plans are the same. it serves their purpose. maybe the payout is different. premiums are different. the person serving u is different.

so be it an agent or planner.. or watever fanciful name u give it ( personal banker, financial consultant.. blah blah) as long as the person delivers wat he/she promises..(the most impt is that cheque shld smthg happen) that person is good at the work.

or maybe like wat my colleague put it succintly:
an agent earns $$$
but a planner works for free. coz he only plan only mah!

finally i saw my dentist. expected..she gave me antibiotics to bring down the swelling. hopefully by 10th it will be okie..then i can proceed for my surgery.

met up with shannon last night! had 3/4pints of kilkenny!! and surprisingly,, the infected gums didnt hurt that much! then we went balaclava to meet LC. initially i was tinking if LC felt comfortable.. but man!!! u put 2 guys who believe in horoscopes like nobody else.. the effect is damn hilarious!! =P

to me, horoscopes is just a probability game. that was told to me by my fren many years ago. i dismissed it then. and stuck by "horoscope is really the true reflection of one's personality". somehow this yr, i realised maybe it's rather a generalisation of personalities! one horoscope will have a list of sttributes. somehow, one of them will fit u to a tee! and wala.. u tink it's true. and i feel that the list of attributes of different horoscopes are jsut being substituted by a synonym.

anw we had an interesting discussion. emotional infidelity and physical infidelity. which is worse?
too lengthy to put down in words. i'm lazy to type too. but then.. there's no right no worng answer.

hmmm LC commented that i'm very close up emotionally. i guess i am! too protective of my feelings. then again.. now work is more impt!!! almost dying liao.. left 1100api to my target! damn..

i'm still awake at this hour! i went to bed at 10am.. drifted into lala land.. then my irritating neighbour's daughter came back.. and pls.. she's so loud with her voice! with the way she opened door! bitch! and then the coo-ing she did to her dog!!!

ha.. i just witnessed how kiki lay dead and drifting into lala land.. then got jolted out of it when my stupid neighbour dragged the chair above us! tink she is very bored! haha..

weekend zoomed past fast! =)
yday was spent on appts and juliana's wedding lunch. held at the legends. yes it was a very warm affair. pun intended. but dear juliana did a special project. which i have nv seen anyone dng that b4. she created a little book to acknowledge all the pple whom she dealt with. the photographers, the manicurist, the bridal shop etc. sweet. and the wedding flavours were the first i encountered. stirers. with a heart shaped. hmmm.. feeling of love.

and i fell asleep early! tink ard 930pm or 10pm. but i know i felt refreshed this morning! =)

this morning.. despite the sufficient beauty sleep, i'm grouchy. perhaps no breakfast. once again, it has proven that a hungry floffy is an angry floffy! haha.. after the macdonald's meal, felt better and left for appt.

had dinner with phy just now..tog with the rest of the sisters! so exciting.. anthr one more week.. =) and the waltz too!! haha..i really hope it will turn out nice on that day! looking forward to it!!

met ling for lunch today at golden shoe market and witnessed a case of ugly singaporean chinese man!!! totally grossed and disgusted by this loser. well.. we didnt catch the prequel to the argument. by the time we realised there was an argument, a crowd of guys were already forming separating one chinese and one malay guy.

and the chinese guy took out his handphone .. apparently on video mode.. and gesturing the malay guy to lunge at him. in an attempt to challenge the malay guy to fight with him so he could have some "criminal" evidence. and the chinese guy had this distorted look on his face. and it reminded me so much of the everitt road saga.. the cheng or chen family with the neighbours. gosh.. sure his look is disgusting!! and he's not good-looking.

so with some mediators (who were oso customers), the 2 guys separated. but the chinese guy refused to budge and kept challenging the malay guy. if i were his fren, i would have felt so embarrassed.

so the malay guy ignored him and continued his lunch. while the chinese guy still continued to glare at him and make funny faces. well.. if u were there, it's obvious who's the one who's losing face.

unable to get any response from the malay guy, the chinese guy went over to his female coll's table. which happened to be in front of the malay's. and in a miserable attempt to show his superiority, he commented "it's obvious who's low class and who's high class"

i turned to look at ling " it's so damn obvious he (chinese guy) is such a loser and low class!"

well.. perhaps the pathetic chinese guy needed some ego booster. who knows. in any case, it just reflects so badly on his character.

the malay guy on the other hand, shows what a real man react in this kind of situation. by turning away, he's really mature in his dealings. unlike the other stupid fool.

i tink i'm blessed by a guardian angel. really.

i drove to my appt yday nite. appt place was at woodlands. usu i will go by thomson road then up SLE. but due to my experience driving at 7plus, that road is full of cars.

so the other alternative is to go by lentor then SLE. lesser cars and smoother ride. while driving out of the c/p, a thot of going yishun popped up in my head. well..the thot was pushe away by anthr dominant thot.. " wat to do with my client's portfolio?"

so i drove n drove... and then, before i knew it.. i missed the SLE entrance. and was on my way to yishun. for a moment, i'm pissed. angry with myself for being distracted. then i calmed down and said "everything happens for a reason. it may be a blessing in disguise"

so i enjoyed the longer ride via gambas. and finally reached my destination. and just about entering the basement c/p, class 95 road traffic report was announced.

and i heard " woodlands ave 2.. a car skidded on the side"

and i said "THANK YOU!" to my guardian angel. coz they might be a jam there? or rather slower traffic? and i might be late for appt! =)

just read the papers abt a couple being penalised for failing to pay for their house. coz they couldnt secure any home loans.

sigh. i tink this problem is perrenial nowadays. coz pple just dont plan properly.

one of my fren got a unit at boon keng. judging from the price of the flat, they may need to pay about $2000 monthly. lucky them. they have quite supportive parents.

then again, i always feel buying a house is a big commitment! and shld be considered properly. and it's important to buy within means. else i dont see the point why buy a condo or landed just coz of "face" value and make urself fret over installments ltr? silly isnt it?

and my coll's mum is a property agent. when my coll and her husband were searching for a condo unit, her mum refused to let them find anything more than $600k. despite both of their combined income was about $20k. coz her mum has seen her fair share of couples unable to cope with the housing loans. and many ended up quarelling and for some sad case.. divorce..

but i do pity those pple whose income bracket dont allow them to apply for HDB and grant. and judging from the things are now, i tink i'm one of those who fall into this category. sigh. i seriously dont think i wan to commit to a bigger house. for investment, yes. for accomodation... hmmm.. it's a serious consideration.

wise financial planning... very important!!

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS

what i learned from this hilarious romantic comedy:
- i rather do nthg and be happy than dng smthg which i dun love
- being my true self

watched it with him. had a simple dinner of yong tau foo.. and we both enjoyed the show.. good laugh for 2 stressed-up pple.. hehe..

and during dinner, he gave me an interesting perspective on the natural disaters:
the situation in myanmar is worse than in china.
why? coz china is open to the media. myanmar is closed up to a certain extent. the fact that the generals didnt allow foreign troops into the country.. and limited the media exposure actually concealed the true extent of the aftermath.

i cant help to agree. straits times correspondent wrote in details how the aids were being transported for sichuan earthquake. he even travelled with the rescue team. on the other hand, reports on myanmar focused on how the generals stalled and refused relief aid. little were focused on the lives of the survivors.

for a simple fact: just google "myanmar's cyclone" and "china's earthquake", 2 different set of emotions were told. for myanmar's, it's more of images of children asking for food.. homeless survivors huddling tog. for china's, it's more of images of wailing parents, children and the emotions they carried on their faces.

and which leads to the discussion of humanitarian and political aspects.. which i will not dwell on it here. i'm not a political science student. not going to write a full page essay! hee.. but it's a definitely interesting insight!
loved the intense discussion we had! and i gained a different perspective!! =)

i looked at the disaters that have been happening.

i feel blessed that i'm in a country quite stable n protected from the cruel hands of nature..

yet i feel really upset at the deaths of these pple.

first was the myanmar cyclone..then the earthquakes at sichuan.

a warning from mother earth? or it's just one of the disastrous natural occurence bound to happen every few years/decades/months?

i tink it's especially hard for the parents of the Juyuan middle school students who died/trapped in the rubbles. imagine u placed all ur hopes on ur only child.. and it's all gone..with bldg collapsing inwards. as if swallowing them up. and burying them deep inside.

and for the orphans. who lost everything in a few minutes.

such is the cruelty of life. some call it life-changing.

in any case, it's sad.

i pray that the parents/orphans will be stronger emotionally n mentally. and the pple can pick up the pieces and move on. easier said than done. i know.

updates on the past few weeks!!!

major events:

1)macau + guangzhou trip

2) mother's day dinner

shall update on mother's day first! easier! hehe

got mummy a pearl pendant i bought from zhuhai. =) tink she likes it!

and got the other mummies a pearl trinket they can hang on their phones. and birdnest for ah-ma.

instead of gathering at my uncle's place.. we had the dinner at SEAFOOD PARADISE at singapore flyer.

the table was expensive.. $788..

- well it's one of the occassions the mgmt can dig deeper into the consumers' pocket. and poor papa gotta fork out one table. coz initially only 3 tables with 11/12 pax each. papa feels that dun need to be so squeezy.. seriously i felt the heart pain for him.. coz they are jobless now mah.. hehe..

the food was horrible.. save for the fish. it began with a wrong order of cold dish, shark's fin (know we shld be environmental/ecologically frenly-watever u call it-), some pathetic asparagus with scallops, fried lobster with salted egg (most of us didnt enjoy this), rice or noodles, the fish (which was really sweet n fresh) and the honeydew sago. .. overall didnt really like it.

the service sucks BIG TIME!! for some reason, all the waitresses n waiters are from china. now.. i dun have any bias opinions abt them. but they cant understand basic english. not that we dunnoe how to speak mandarin, singapore mandarin n china mandarin really differs alot!!! so in the end, it took quite some time to understand each other as well.

the ambience... like a market! coz probably i'm seated facing the tanks. all i saw was lobsters.. fishes.. prawns.. scrambling on top of anthr. the fishes were like staring at us while we are eating their comrades. not a sight to behold!!

but then, it's the company that counts! we ended the dinner with my all time fav- lychee martini cake!! hehe... and we had a small chocolate cake as well. well.. most like the lychee martini cake. it's a refreshing change! =)

it's quite a good catch up session with some of my cousins! =) and when we were taking photos, someone from anthr table commented.. wah.. she (my ah-ma) got so many grandchildren! somehow.. i felt a tinge of pride. i'm proud that my maternal family is close knitted. and i always look forward to the gatherings. and it's smthg that our parents taught us. and i hope i can pass this spirit on to the next generation. =)

anthr weekend passed just like that..

on fri.. met up with some of the pple from jw clique. golf practising at bkt batok driving range. i'm able to hit 50m for most of my shots. 2 explanations:
1) the distance marking at bkt batok is nearer
2) my golf swing improved!

but need more practising though. then we sat n chatted till ard 11pm. hmmm quite a fun chat.. mostly talking abt our JC times. since most of us were from different JCs.

then sat.. went for waltz. hmmm i tink i'm falling in love with waltz. in the past i always thot that waltz is a slow dance. boring. but the practice made me feel really elegant. and there's actually fast steps as well. =) maybe that's my next interest to tk up!! =P hee.. so muz thank phy.. if not for her special project.. i dun tink i will ever get acquainted with waltz! =P

then i went to chinatown market. heard so much abt it!! all the fashion stalls there. 1st time there.. and my.. it seemed i was transported back to thailand! but the heat was really killing me!! but then.. the shopping experience there was great!! i managed to get 3tops and a pencil skirt!!
actually abit regret for buying so many.. coz i'm gg to macau n guangzhou in anthr 2 days.. but then again.. i can shop more when i'm there!! hee..

then went home to bathe n changed!! the weather was so humid!! i felt sticky all over.. and i took a really nice cold bath!!! without the heater!! one word: SHIOK!!!

then met up with the jw clique again at topone ktv!! had fun singing.. and heard a lup-sup song for the 1st time! had a good laugh over it!! =) actually had this ktv for one of them.. to keep him company.. hope things will work out well..

and sun.. slept till 10am!! =) then went to meet jane for my hair treatment at yishun!! the shop actually has this machine to look at the condition of ur hair. mine was really oily!! and i signed a package there..plus the shampoo n hair tonic.. there goes my $$$.. but i tink it's worth it! coz muz really upkeep appearance.. muz put in effort.. coz there's only lazy gers.. no ugly gers.. =P
but i felt good after the hair treatment! hair felt lighter.. and greasy feeling of my hair no more! =)
and i ended sunday with an appt. met my fren/client's parents. they are so frenly and easy to talk to!! initially i had the fear of awkwardness.. but it turns out well.. and of course i closed my cases! =) hee..

going to sleep soon... tmr long day.. and i havent even packed my luggage!! -_-"

watched the news just now. food prices rising. indeed it may be a global problem.

it's depressing to watch the news sometimes. reports on famine.. reports on food shortage.. reports on disasters.. yet they are part and parcel of life. one just gotta accept it. coz no matter wat, there's a limitation on how much one person or one organisation or one country can do.

actually the rice shortage news did make me think hard. will there be no rice one day? and look at the amt of rice singaporeans throw away. just look at the kopitiams/ hawker centres and there are enuff evidence of food wastage. now.. i'm no saint. but when i looked at the amount of left overs rice.. and if one is to pile them up in a plate.. it's sufficient to feed anthr person.. smtmes 2! then it makes me wonder, y some pple dun wan to share the plate of rice?

anw it's pple choice.. cant control.

and this is smthg i learned tdy.. never be influenced by pple. u make ur own choice. be it good or bad.. and i did mentioned in one of my posts b4:

wow.. sunday passes fast.. it's like 2pm now!!

weekend always zooms past fast!!

fri met up with angie!! it's a good catchup!! had dinner at sushi tei, vivo city.. then walked ard the shops.. didnt managed to get any thing.. except placed a reservation for a top from BYSI. but now.. having 2nd thots.. coz haf a similar top.
went to corduory cafe again! just love the place.. sitting outdoors.. chatting.. watching the world going past.. nice, relaxing feeling! =)

and dear angie sent me back! so nice of her!!

sat came n went too!
went to see Dr Ng to tk our my big toe nail!! hee.. coz i tried taking it out myself and it's painful. but skillful Dr Ng took it out in a jiffy.. and it was painless! wow..
then appt.. quite a long one. hmmm.. this prospect is a young chap. so we were just talking abt pop songs. and i was telling him my time popular singers.. and i asked him.. during his time.. who were the pop singers..

me: my time was aaron kwok la.. andy lau.. jacky cheung.. blah blah..
him: my time ah.. SHE.. Jay CHou.. Jolin..

different genre.. different style.. different generation! hee..

then went home.. realised papa havent had his lunch and it was 5pm!!! so went to have kway chap with him. seldom go lunch/dinner with papa alone. so treasure the time..

then went yishun for my hair treatment. my oily scalp is getting worse. but i feel happy after treatment! nthg beats pampering urself smtmes! hee.. was supposed to meet phy n sk for policy delivery. but they were held up by their bridal shop.. so went to pick mummy up. sigh.. had a little argument with mummy over pick up place!

and then it was to TOPONE ktv again! 11pm- 5am!!! was there to celebrate kz's bday!! oh.. the bday cake was simply heavenly! =) chocolate truffle.. and it had bite-size blackcurrant inside. *SLURP* really enjoyed the ktv session.. sang to our hearts' content! =) but of coz.. all of us were dead tired after the session!!

sun slept near to 6am.. woke up near 11am. then had lunch with parents.. went to the hawker ctr over at amk ave 10. it's been a long time since i have a leisurely sunday with them. coz for the past 10+ years.. their sundays were busy at their stall. shopped ard the neighbourhood shops.. still managed to buy quite a no. of stuffs. =) and i bought a bingo set for parents.. thot it's a cute idea.. incase they ran out of inspiration to buy 4D.. hee..
and true enuff.. parents tried their luck at turning their lucky numbers. of course i did too! =P

gotta prepare for appts again.. but it's for the good cause!! holding my dreams dearly.. LA.. SAN DIEGO..OSAKA.. MACAU..

met up with NUS CACS pple!! had steamboat at one of the restaurant along liang seah street. quite enjoyable but the smell inside.. woo.. powering!! haha..
then joined them awhile for karaoke.. TOPONE KTV.
simply love the place.. coz it's clean n nice! n comfy. stayed till abt 1145pm before heading home. too tired to join them for the rest of the nite!

xq was telling me they stayed till 4am!!wow.. next time then!

appt in the morning.. and golf again!
yeah.. my golf swing improved.. now just gotta know the impact.. =) learnt how to play in the bunkers.. gosh.. it's not ez at all.. and the sand kept flying in all directions! haha..

feeling excited! coz sis n i brought mummy, 2nd aunt, ah-ma to ritz carlton for dim sum lunch! oh.. sis brought along gabriel (john's nephew). he's so adorable. and my.. could he eat! i was telling sis "should haf made reservation for 6adults instead of 5adults 1 child"
it's an enjoyable lunch!!

then sis sent me for my waltz lesson with the gers! we are learning it for a special occassion! hee.. it's fun learning waltz.. 1.5hrs of intensive dancing.. the steps.. hmmm.. beginning to love waltz. initially i thot it's a boring dance.. but well.. not too bad an experience.

after lesson, proceeded to swensen. had ice-cream.. yummy!! and celebrated jinfu's bday! actually i was quite pissed with jinfu n shir. comm'on.. i'm nt ur financial advisor.. so stop asking me if this is good or bad. pls.. when i approached u guys.. u kept pushing away the appt. and when things happen.. u dun go to ur agent but come to me? weird rite?? then y engage ur agent? smtmes pple really tk advantage just because u are conveniently there!

then met up with my client for appt. lasted till 6pm.. quite a smooth one. =)

then after the appt, i went to the mini travel fair. checked out the air tix to australia. shld be more or less confirmed gg over in july. =) and there's a promo for SQ..

oh no.. i gotta save more.. have to pay for parents' air tix!!!
so gotta work even harder!! yeah.. looking forward! so bro.. pls look for accomodation.. and plan the itineary!! keke.. =P

i admit. i'm feeling confused. little knots of confusion within me.

maybe coz it's time of the month i'm feeling emotional? i dunnoe.

my weekly exercise regime.

i feel lethargic! i feel lifeless. i need adrenaline pumping into me once more!!!

and i muz get my priorities rite! somehow for some god-f*ck reason, my priorities shifted. and yes i'm angry with myself. coz that is smthg i have ctrl over and i hate it when i feel that i lost it!

so, no more wasting time on frivolous stuff. focus on the things i wan. focus on the pple who deserve my attention. focus on family. focus on osaka/LA/San Diego!

been resting n resting since i came back! haha.. die man.. the feeling of anxiety builds inside me again!! sigh...

FRI
did nthg except went for my golf lesson. paid anthr $100 for an hour to correct my posture n swing. fruitful lesson! =)

SAT
in the morning went to support my client for her makeover session. she's in MLM.. so just went to do it lor.. since she supported me as well. not too bad. but i seriously need to go on diet!! haha.. more exercise!!

then went home, washed up and prepared for my golf practice with xq. gotta practice more man. put what i learnt yday to good use. but the shots are still inconsistent. nvm.. with practice n determination, i'll master the right technique!

although it's only abt an hr practice, it was a good workout!! felt shiok!

then left to pick jerm up at sengkang before gg down to vivocity! mtg jully n ling as well!! anw the cars at vivo were crazy! chose the basement c/p instead! though it obviously showed zero lots n multi-storey showed 100+lots. but i believe i would be lucky.. and indeed i was! hehe..
such a coincidence that ling was at basement c/p too!

went to dian xiao er for dinner. yummy yummy.. simply love their herbal duck!! and ordered the mongolian spareribs again. but this time round it's not mild spicy.. it's quite spicy actually. but guessed everyone enjoyed the dinner. and jerm treated!! yeah.. thanks ya? after dinner, jac called and announced her arrival!!

it's like almost a yr since we last met?!? anw this yr cny reunion she couldnt mk it coz she's sick.. and when she met us .. she's still unwell.. but really happy she came.. =) we went to corduory cafe. nice english style but it's simply a freezer inside. so we opted to sit outside.

and the cam-whoring started once more to capture the "right angle" so we look slim!! haha.. it's lotz of fun doing it!! esp with jerm!!! =P the gers need not capture the right angle.. coz we still look slim besides his face!! keke...

we chatted n laughed n gossiped.. time just whizzed past.. but it's definitely a great catchup session!! if not for the cafe closing.. i guessed we would have just continued our talks..
well.. there's always a next time! =)

sent jully n jerm back.. was simply too tired after sending jully back. kept making little mistakes on the road. luckily there wasnt any cars coz it's already 1am. reached home safely by 0110am..

SUN
decided to get my lazybones up early!! =) cleared up the disater stupid kiki made!! and went out to get breakfast! the morning sun beamed onto my face. and for some reason, i felt hopeful! =) it brightened up my day quite considerably!

did some housekeeping.. and before i knew it.. time's up!
gotta go for waltz lessons with the gers (phy, shir, jane and partners)!! yup.. it's for some special event!! =)

but alas, when we reached there, the dance teacher wasnt there. no responses from him despite the numerous calls. so after waiting for 45mins, we decided to quit waiting and go for coffee instead.

we walked a far n long way before going to far east square. went to spinelli and found a nice spot for 8 of us. again, over coffee and tea.. we chatted. with this group, it's more on weddings.. family plannings.. basically anthr stage of life. which i cant associate myself with it yet! but nonetheless, still managed to join in the discussions coz of all the stories from other frens who are already married! haha..

in anthr 2 months' time, phy n sk will hold their customary wedding. looking forward to it! =) time flies.. last yr we were still discussing abt it. now in a blink of the eye, it's drawing nearer!

left ard 430pm. wanted to go ah-ma's place to visit her. but my cramps acted up before i got to my car. felt faint.. and decided to head home instead. but gotta help papa buy 4D first!! pray hard will open!! in the top 3 prize!! haha

so here i am..back home.. and the next thing to do:
pack the untidy table!!

went for golf lesson (one-to-one) yday afternoon. finally i got the posturing done!! and it's extremely satisfying!! =)

then met D for dinner. sushi tei at raffles city! well.. great catchup..

by 10pm.. the sleep bugs were biting me.. *yawnz*

shared a cab n reached home by 1030pm!

back from HCMC n HANOI..

loved the culture there!

stayed at Majestic Hotel (District 1)

just loooovvvveed the old charm! =)

explored the area ard hotel.. hmmm.. and we chanced upon their market! goodness.. all are neatly stacked n orderly.. loved the vibrant colours at the market! it seemed so unlike singapore's markets.. dirty n messy...

first nite was QC ELITE dinner at some faraway place.

CUCHI TUNNEL
intelligence of the viet con made the US soldiers look stupid n cumbersome. and they dug the tunnel by handwoven bamboo baskets!!

after lunch at pho 24.. went shopping at winsor plaza. not exactly the kind of shopping environment one anticipated. but still can get some lacquer wares n embroidery stuffs!

2nd nite.. dinner treat by bosses at some nice restaurant.

loved the french food there.. yummylicious! and i finally tried their vietnamnese coffee...

then proceeded to bien than nite market. managed to get some drifit shirts.. lots of bargaining. and i put my dimpled smile to good use! hehe..

HANOI (7th-10th april)

took an internal flight to hanoi. got quite a no. of rude shock!!!

1) a vietnam guy sneaked up besides me and stared at my breasts!!! fucking hell!!! wat's there to see!!! i was just wearing a sleeveless top that's all.

2) an old lady besides my toilet cubicle just peed on the floor!!1 she didnt use the toilet bowl!! yucks!!!

3) our taxi driver stopped halfway n changed into a t-shirt in the middle of the road!
bizarre behaviours!!! amusing...

anw stayed at hilton. hmmm.. pale in comparison with majestic! no grandeur.. but well it's a biz kinda hotel.

the best thing abt hilton? they use crabtree & evelyn products.. la source.. my fav! =)
and the room faced the opera house!

the pple there are more health conscious, i supposed. one will see pple (yound or old) engaging in badmintons.. chatek.. street dance.. colourful!

1st day

HOAN KIEM LAKE
lovebirds all around! wonder why they are so free!?! dont they need to work/study?

dinner was at siphu restaurant. a steamboat stlye. quite upmarket. the food portion is generous!! we paid abt USD35 for 2pax. very full by the end of the meal!

took a slow walk to uncle ho's resting place before flagging for a cab. the walk was great.. with the cool breeze against your face.. nice weather.. n a great companion to talk n laughed with.

2nd day

OLD DISTRICT
colourful!!! all the areas are segmented into different sections. if u wanna find cloth.. u go to one street.. if u wan to find baby stuff..anthr street. although it looks messy.. it's actually well organised.. but i got lost!! haha..

booked my tour at sinh cafe. wun recommend pple to go there.. instead to ODC travel. if not for the fact ODC doesnt offer day tour i would surely go for them!

had lunch at one of the little cafe.. not too bad.. got to know an australian.. glenn. he took leave to explore vietnam for a month. cool!

oh and i nearly got knocked down by one of their bikes. phew.. and when i went back hotel and read the newspaper.. MARCH had the highest incidence of traffic accidents n death in HCMC. hmmm.. luckily i didnt contribute to any of the figures in april.

dinner was at brother's cafe!! absolutely in love with the decor! the old chinese backyard.. food was good too..it was buffet style.. where u get to taste almost all the local food! the ambience is absolutely fantastic!

3rd day
HALONG BAY

next time i go.. i will opt for the 2D1N tour! it will be lovely to see the sunset! amidst all the limestone caves.. and the tranquility.

before the caves visit, we stopped over at the fishing village. just like kelong except that there are not on stilts. actually i tink if i'm able to wake up everyday to the nature.. it'll be good.. but i'm too used to city life. cant imagine nthg to do at nite!!!

went to 2 caves. awesome. the pretty lights played up the beautiful formations of the limestones. and it's cooling inside!!

the journey back was a torture! loong ride.. slept throughout.. finally reached back hotel ard 8pm. ordered room service. too tired to go out n explore! =)

4th day
went to one of the little eateries littered ard the vicinity. found this place which only locals are seen.
HN cafe (11 Le Phung Hieu Street, Hoan Kiem District)

they even offer delivery services!
the pho bo was superb!! the tinge of spiciness of the soup base and the freshness of the beef!! yummy!!! and the coffee.. oh.. so rich n full of aroma!! but bill was on the high side.. 820000 vnd for 2 pax.

well.. some thots on veitnam:

1) why are their gers so shapely?? as in they have really tiny waist.. but their busts are a handful!! it's perfect! and most are slim! in s'pore.. most of the time u'll see.. slim gers with small breasts. or rather it's proportionate to the size. not in vietnam!

2) how can one tahan the honkings of the bikes n cars n taxis??? everyday???!!!?? if i stayed there for a year or two.. i may need a hearing aid!!!

3) why are their cows so scrawny n thin and yet most of their pho are actually beef??

4) why is it that the faces of vietnamnese are so good.. with all the pollutions ard??

5) and i thot it's quite romantic to sit on the bike with your love. or by the lake. =)

6) and the no. of bikes in vietnam is almost equivalent to the population in singapore.. 3.5mil

7) crossing the roads is a fun activity!! it feels exciting!! though very dangerous!! imagine jaywalking without getting a fine! unlike singapore.. just walk and step out with blind faith! >.<

8) you will see family loaded not onto cars/trucks but onto the mini bikes!!! and the bikes can carry towering items like toilet papers! or boxes!! amazing of their balancing act!!

i took a cab from my place to duxton road for my manicure session. as usual the same route.. up CTE and exit havelock road.

when we crossed the erp gantry at havelock ard 1140am, the driver went to manually pressed the erp button. so i kept quiet and continued the journey.

when i reached my destination, the driver hurriedly press anthr button to show the whole bill. i shot back "uncle.. there is no ERP charge"

he didnt argue back. just said "oh.. the $12.20 lor"

i asked for a receipt. he said the machine was spoilt! and by right, he should have given me a written receipt. but he didnt as well..

so i got off and took down the cab no. and called premier cab (Silver cab).

i have lodged a complaint to Premier but i tink i will lodge ot with LTA. coz i have a feeling that Premier will just call and said "oh.. he's our new driver"

it's not abt the extra $1! it's the act of dishonesty which disgust me!

gosh.. it's really amazing!! the zit really reduced its swelling after 2days! =)

i guessed it's better to cover up those zits with a medicated concealer. as it hides.. it heals..

and with that spending, i got a free duckie. a bright yellow one. cheerful! =P

finally i can have abit of time luxury to write a short short update.. keke

these past 2 weeks been hectic.. coz of CPF closure. i did my best. but still feel abit of regret for not starting work earlier. managed to break my record again. closing abot $170000+ for these 2 weeks. hmmm.. i know i can definitely perform under pressure but i rather not. cant sleep well.. feeling tired perpetually.. but i'm happy with the results. =)

but i cant rest my laurels. pru launched the exciting destinations for next yr incentives!! woohoo!!! macua and osaka.. starclub destination not announced yet! but i'm very very excited abt macau n osaka. for macau.. i will be able to extend to HK. then osaka.. the old charm of the bldgs.. the inviting cherry blossoms.. just feel excited abt thinking of it!! hope starclub destination will be able to boost up my drive! next yr will be harder.. coz gotta do anthr $15000. no more slacking!!

so now.. i'm pretty much looking fwd to my hcm/hanoi trip!!! guess it's the only time i can really relax.. and get immersed in anthr culture! =)

anw had meant to blog abt this.. guess i shall do it with the little time i have!

finally i got my pitching rite!!! after so many disappointing tries.. the adjustment of my grip.. the golf balls finally flew far.. 30m to be exact! it's already a sense of achievement for me! =)

coz when u have been hitting the balls.. and it flew only mid-way.. frustrations only build up. indeed it's a very different ball game. focus and concentration is really wat it requires. and with a good shot, the sound of iron hitting the ball.. OOOH... UNDESCRIBABLE. finally understood wat he meant by the perfect sound when u get ur swing rite! =)

it's really soothing? if that's the word.

now considering if i shld get my own set of clubs. hmmm... sue (my dear cute colleague) told me getting a ladies 2nd set is gonna be a task. and on the other hand, he was asking me if golf is really wat i wan to pursue (as a hobby of course) afterall it's an expensive hobby. (yes..very.. in my opinion) but i guess i'm getting hooked! *grinz* anw sue is passing her set to me! hee.. thanks so much.. till i'm more certain i wan to take it up as a hobby.. then i will invest..

actually, i wun mind not mtg up with my frens coz of golf. the satisfaction when u see it flying high up in mid air.. travelling through the distance.. and landing where u wan to.. WOW..

plus, i get quite a good workout too! *wink*

met up with bud, ling n jerm yday!!!

finally. the last time we met up- 6mths ago.

had our dinner/supper at the tim sum place at geylang lor 17/19.

though short.. it's quite a happy one!! and filled with laughters.

and we treated jerm! coz it's his BDAY!!!!

yday was quite a happy day!!

1st time attending API lunch. somehow it really motivated me to stay focus.. and i made a promise to myself that i'll go back for a second time.

1st time helping a fren to plan a surprise bday party! it turned out to be quite a success.

but

then again, i nearly got into an accident. this time, worse than the previous near-accident.
again i have the right of way! was travelling ard 80 along amk ave 6. then as i was driving past the entrance of amk st 31, a skoda taxi drove perpendicularly into my path!!!!

and i stopped right there!!! pressed the horn with all my might!!!! luckily the taxi driver was driving very slowly. he was trying to filter to the 1st lane i supposed. while looking at the cars behind me, he failed to notice my car!!! he apologized.

well could see that he was visibly tired. [yes.. we were that close!] my car and the taxi were really perpendicular to each other!

on hindsight, i tink i'm blessed and protected by a guardian angel. =)

anw back to dermalogical pdts.. although expensive, i'll still continue buying theirs. coz it's not ez to find a pdt suitable for ur face! love their gentle exfoliator!! =)

SATURDAY
as usual golf. but we didnt have our lessons. we had practice instead. coz we felt that it's no point moving onto the next lesson when we havent master the pitching yet. arrrgggghh.. i suck at pitching. must go practice more!! there's smthg seriously wrong with my swing!!! and aiming as well.. hmmm maybe tmr pm should go pract again!

then went to 3rd aunt's place for dinner!! davian was there!!! he's just so adorable!!! and i found out he's actually very guai!!! coz he's obviously tempted to drink the 3 cups of soda drinks left on the table. he kept looking at the 3 cups.. but never once did he touch those cups. and if u pass him his water bottle he would gladly drink from it. then look at the 3 cups again! lol...

and he was in very good mood!! he went ard hugging pple. and running after the basketball!!!

and for the first time i saw him threw tantrum! in the car while we were gg back, he started to hit his mummy. so 2nd aunt, myself n qin told him to stop it. and he understood wat we were saying and that we were fierce towards him. so he turned and face the front. when u called him again, he didnt even respond!!! and stare straight in front! then moments ltr, he peeped at u from the corner of his eyes. cute!!!

and i went to bed very early. 11pm.. admist reading the kite runner.. damn.. i cant stop reading that book!!!

SUNDAY

i'm a happy ger!!!

had dinner with parents at IKEA Tampines. it's their 1st time at IKEA cafe. and it's my first time there! despite being open for a year plus and it's nearer my place!! hmmm i still like the one at queensway.. anw we shared the food.. poached salmon, chicken thigh and rice set.. and 4 chicken wings.. and i tink the sweetest moment was when we shared a cup of jelly! haha..

and papa misses brother. he doesnt show it.. but his words "betrayed" him. so brother.. yes.. papa do miss u lotz.. "if xiangxiang is here.. all these food he'll sure love" haha!!

so after the dinner.. we went walking around. wanted to get the shoe boxes. not exactly shoe boxes.. but rather storage for other stuff. however the other day at johnson's place, i saw how he used it as shoe boxes. so that inspired me to clear the messy pile of shoes!!! and i'm very satisfied with the end result. shall post a pix of it ltr.. of coz muz thank johnson for his help la.. guessed that's y my parents really like him.

oh he n wendy brought romby today. kiki surprisingly didnt bark at him!! instead played with him for awhile until romby's "chee-kor-pek" nature revealed itself!!! u can see how kiki trying hard to stay away from him!!! so funny!!!

oh.. and i bought my quilt set!!! hee.. finally... after so many years.. =)

cheezy advertisements..

just saw 2 cheezy adverts one after anthr on tv.. it sent shivers down my spine..

one is the breast enhancement by slimfit..

the other is the many many different i-weekly mag..

hmmm.. quite dismal with the advert.. i'mnot saying that i'm very creative but... i'm sure we can have more creative adverts.

so far, i really like thai and english (UK) advert. thai adverts are usu funny n out of the world.. but i guess humor always works. UK adverts are witty..

actually recently.. there are not many adverts that leave a deep impression..

and i still like the series of macdonald's advert.. the baby smiling n the aquarium one.

and the last area.. had me questioning myself hard.

why is it when it comes to emotions.. one becomes vulnerable?

by submission i cleared.. and i believe all will be well!

this past one week was crazy..

but it made me realised alot of things:

1) when mind is made up, nthg will waver u.

2) when u cry for ur goals, it means the goal is close to my heart. very close.

3) i have to be very thankful for the supportive clients i have.

4) thankful for the ever encouraging boss and colleagues. =)

5) thankful for my family! their support.. their love.. their understanding..

6) that my parents showed their love by making "yo-sim" drink for me & calling me to check if i have done my goals.

7) i have immense determination which i have never known to myself.

8) the toe injury was nthg compared to the urgency i had for my work.

9) if things were gg smoothly, i wouldnt appreciate how i achieve my goals.

i just need my sleep.. and the doctor tmr..

tired? very!

satisfied? immensely!

my mum asked me why i worked so hard? despite the toe injury?

my answer: =) coz i know i'm capable. coz i know with this award.. i will be more motivated to do even higher goals! then i can fight for my clients' rights.

not that i'm noble. but this is a point which my dear coll n mentor.. lu-ee told me. and despite being told by so many pple b4, no one did bring across the point succintly like her. with so much emotions. for that, i'm very thankful she spent that few minutes with me! =)

paris.. a dream once thought unattainable [unless i scrimp n save .. no shopping]
is becoming a reality... and it WILL become a reality soon. =)

i guessed i relied less on blogging to keep my memories.. haha..

then again.. nthg much happened recently. except for work.. and time on my golf.. and with frens.. and him.

have been mtg up more often. partly due to the fact that he'll be away for a month. but thankful for the time spent with him despite our busy schedules. a quick lunch.. a movie in mid-day.. =)

smtmes cant help but thank my flexible working hours. it kinda complements each other well.

then again.. just enjoying the happy moments. life is filled up with so much sorrows.. so just enjoy the moment and be happy! =)
